“You come in and we just ask that they try their hardest and that’s all we need from people in the beginning,” said Jeff Vukobratovich, owner of Team [FIT] Fitness Bootcamps in Gilbert, Ariz.
If you’re used to exercising a lot or haven’t been to the gym in years, Vukobratovich wants to see you succeed in your quest to get in shape.
“It can’t be something that’s done here and there, Vukobratovich said. “You’ve got to be consistent, because consistency is key.
“We keep them moving and before you know it, everyone is melting into the same workout,” Vukobratovich continued.
Vukobratovich gives his Team [FIT] members a variety of workouts that are challenging and motivating.
“We did notice our fitness programs was giving people great workouts, but [they] had no idea what to do when they left,” Vukobratovich said.
Working out was one thing, but when it comes to fueling the body with the proper nutrition, Vukobratovich’s clients needed a little guidance.
Vukobratovich enlisted the help of Team [FIT] boot camper Kelly Twitchell.
“She fit the mold actually for a lot of people in here,” Vukobratovich said. “She still maintains a healthy lifestyle. She knows how to eat and she knows how to shop.”
Twitchell is a registered dietitian.
“People are beginning to understand that wellness is both physical activity and healthy eating,” Twitchell said. “ The hard part is implementing it.”
Twitchell helps Team [FIT] campers learn how to eat right by taking them on grocery store tours at Sprouts Farmers Market in Gilbert once a month.
She gives them advice on everything from reading food labels to portion sizes.
“We talk about the benefits of [certain] food groups and having not only balance, but also variety and moderation in those food groups,” Twitchell said.
Something Carly Accardo likes.
Accardo is not only getting good results at boot camp, but her food choices have made a big difference.
“It’s not just about working out and it’s not just about eating right, it’s the two of them together,” Accardo said. “So having access to both of them is a huge benefit.”
“We really want them to be well rounded and make it a lifestyle change, ” Vukobratovich said.
If interested in checking out Team [FIT], new members can try two weeks unlimited for $20.
Vukobratovich has another boot camp in Queen Creek, Ariz. and does offer free childcare at select times and locations.
