There are many reasons people pack on the pounds at certain times in their lives, maybe an injury, or an emotional event, for Ivy Ciolli it was the birth of her second child.
See what this Arizona mom did to kick those unwanted pounds to the curb.
“So it help me get back into shape. I actually weigh less now and more toned than I was before the baby,” said Ivy Ciolli.
It’s something all new moms deal with, baby weight and for those who’ve done it, getting it off can be a miracle in the making.
“You can always get your body back. I know it’s hard for some reason to imagine because right after you always think there is no way ever going to get back to where I was, but I’m one of those people I didn’t think it was possible and I ate right and I started attending classes and it’s amazing how quickly you’ll see your body transforming just in this class,” said Ciolli.
Ivy Ciolli goes to the body lab in phoenix.
“We practice kind of innovative methodology here. So we took the principles of Pilates very grounded and very safe for the body and as well as the machinery the reformers,” said Adam Naielua.
Lead instructor, Adam Naielua said this workout is very different from other classes you’ve taken at the gym.
“You’re going to work muscles that you’ve neglected. So that is what we really like to focus on. The easy muscles anyone can do in any studio, any fitness regime and it’s the ones that we ignore, didn’t realize that we needed and that’s where we like to focus on in really challenging ways,” said Naielua.
The focus of this intense workout is the core.
“It is centered around the core then we branch off from there. So it is whole body, but we definitely focus on the middle of the body and we spread out,” said Naielua.
“Ah, the core, anything with the core and Adam does a great job of making you stay in that position for a long time,” said Ciolli.
What can you expect after your first workout class?
“You’re going to feel definitely like you’ve accomplished something head to toe. We call it the vibration, the shaking. You come out a little wobbly, but in a good way, that kind of happy way. There’s a point you’re not sure you can drive home, but you’re laughing about it, but you want to try that again,” said Naielua.
“So, I’ve even told people in the class after their first class. I say don’t give up because I felt awkward and uneasy my first time, but if you stick with it you’ll be so grateful you never gave up,” said Ciolli.
And, one of the biggest bonuses with this workout, no two classes are the same.
“Every trainer does different things and every time I come in it’s always changed up and that’s what I like about it because I normally get bored going to certain classes,” said Ciolli.
“Every class is constant muscle confusion. We don’t use any set routine and no two routines are the same, no two instructors are the same. So it’s a little surprise when you walk in here,” said Naielua.
Surprises that eventually pay off in a big way!
“I’ve always liked lean looking arms, but my best improvement has been my thighs and my legs because that’s usually where the weight goes,” said Ciolli. “And so just having toned legs and not feeling uncomfortable. I’m going to California and I feel like I can put on a pair of shorts while I’m there and that’s the best thing for me. It’s not being like oh no what do my thighs look like. So, I’m happy about that and my butt too, laughs.”
Ciolli typically takes two classes a week, if she has time she’ll squeeze in a third one.
Besides the classes, she also works her diet. Ciolli said she tries to stay away from the gluten, unhealthy grains and sugars.
Naielua said nutrition does give people an added edge with this workout, he has seen clients lose 30 to 50 pounds within their first year.
