There are thousands of exercise machines and equipment out on the market. I believe some are gimmicks, while others have actual use.  But I think it comes back to the basics when searching for the right pieces for your program.

Bench – I think having a bench is an inexpensive way to offer variety to your dumbbell exercises.  The bench can provide various angles, as well as lower back stability for many exercises.  You can also use the bench itself as a prop for exercises like dips, pushups and step-ups.
