It’s a go, go, go mentality for most Americans making it tough to find time to exercise, but a new gym could change the way you work out and make the age-old excuse of not having enough time a thing of the past.

“What I use to do with an hour and half, two hours at a regular gym I can do here in the 20 minutes. I feel just as tired, I sweat just as much and you feel just as good after the workout,” said David Vasquez.

20 minutes, really, you must be kidding? That is the concept at a new gym in north Scottsdale called, the exercise coach.

Two 20 minute workouts each week is all you need to increase strength and lose fat.

“When you first step in here you think oh how hard can it really be? You know it is 20 minutes. It’s very challenging,” said Vasquez.

David Vasquez has always been active, until he was injured. He’s been working out at the exercise coach for around two months.

“I’ve gone from being out of shape due to an injury I had at another gym to getting back in shape, being able to work out here with the injury, recovering from the injury,” said Vasquez.

The machines are catered to you, and what you can do.

“The first thing it does is our exclusive strength technology,” said Amanda Coe, Owner of The Exercise Coach.

“Allows us to very quickly and accurately measure an individual’s unique muscular strength and use that to create a customized strength program that is based on their unique physiology,” said Coe.

So, if you are recovering from an injury, have bad knees or a bad shoulder… the machines still push you without putting added strain on your body.

“It doesn’t matter what your starting point is and everyone can do this because we are effectively using your body strength to create a customized work out program,” said Coe.

It works through controlled movements.

“Our equipment delivers brief intense resistance strength exercises that stimulate entire muscle groups in less than 2 minutes adding

up to a total 20 minute total body workout,” said Coe.

“What you see here on the screen in the green ban, that green curve, represents David’s customized strength program and the chest press. So during this exercise he is engaging major muscle groups in upper body and his chest. And the yellow line that you see here on the screen represents how much force he’s pushing that arm away with and resisting it as it comes back towards him,” said Coe.

The goal is to keep the yellow line within the green band and each week the work out changes to keep your muscles guessing.

On average in just eight to 12 weeks people see an overall increase in total body strength of about 15 to 30 percent.

“Two 20 minute strength exercises a week is all you need. In fact the research shows that it’s the intensity of the exercise that matters more than the duration,” said Coe.

“I’ve noticed I have gotten stronger,” said Vasquez.

David says he has lost five pounds and increased his strength by more than 20 percent in two months.

Results vary with each person, but Amanda says people who saw the most dramatic results are those who follow both the fitness and nutrition programs offered at The Exercise Coach.
